Health Tips
There are no short cuts when it comes to getting in shape. Once you make the choice to dive into a healthier lifestyle there is a certain amount of time and discipline involved. Here is a list of healthier options that require little on no extra time.
• Switch from mayo to mustard
• Take the stairs instead of the elevator
• Park in the farthest spot from the door
• Drink a glass of water 30 minutes before eating a meal
• Get lots of rest (Try to go to bed and get up and the same time everyday.)
• Consider whether you're really hungry.
• Wait 10 minutes before going back for seconds
• Switch to crunchy vegetables for you between meal snacks (Celery and cucumbers can help with hunger while adding zero calories to your daily consumption totals)
• Down size your portions. (Fist sized portions of meat and palmed sized portions of sides. Correcting you portion sizes will lead to a smaller stomach bringing you few hunger pangs)
• Cut down on your soda consumption (diet soda is actually worse than regular soda WHO KNEW)
• Start your morning with a glass of water with fresh lemon juice squeezed into it
• Get a Good Pair of Sneakers (Is your energy lagging? Though it may be the last thing you feel like doing when you're tired, exercise -- even a brisk walk -- can be more effective than a nap or cup of coffee at fighting fatigue.)
• Eat Bananas (People whose diets are rich in potassium may be less prone to high blood pressure. Besides reducing sodium and taking other heart-healthy steps, eat potassium-packed picks such as bananas, cantaloupe, and oranges)
•Go for Garlic (Adding raw or lightly cooked garlic and onions to your meals may help keep you healthy this winter. Both foods appear to possess antiviral and antibacterial properties and are believed to boost immunity.)
• Watch Your Carbs (Trying to reduce belly fat? Pay attention to your carbohydrate intake and avoid artificial sweeteners)
